Seamus's Abyss
Thanks for the positive feedback and informative responses to my last post regarding choosing between Berklee and UNC-Asheville for Child #2. We still have not received a financial package from Berklee. The Berklee admissions office told Seamus his official transcript was not received in time and that we should receive the financial details in a couple weeks. His decision is due May 1, mind you (exactly 2 weeks away). Prompted by Seamus's guitar teacher, Hal Engler, I sent an email to my neighborhood list serve asking if someone could put us in touch with a Berklee graduate. And, oh my gosh... We have now conversed with a Berklee graduate and senior engineer at a New York music production company, a high-school alumnus (Durham School of the Arts) with a music production degree from Oberlin and his brother, a Harvard graduate whose work was recently nominated for a Grammy... and Seamus still has two more phone calls to make, both to Berklee grads who are currently producing music. One thing's for sure, this decision will not be uninformed. In the meantime, several people have sent warm fuzzies regarding Seamus's cover of Bon Iver's Holocene and asked if there is more. So my #ThemeSong today is Seamus's original song, Abyss, which he also produced for his college apps [using a small board with square-shaped buttons that looks like a postmodern version of Simon (!)].

I have received permission to post two more of Seamus’s songs, so stay tuned if you're diggin the music (or if you just can't get it out of your head). Regardless of where his life path takes him, I'm so proud of my little boy ♥️.
